Question: How are teams formed, and can I make a special request?

Answer: With the exception of T-ball teams, all RC ACE teams are formed by team managers who select players through a draft system with the objective of achieving evenly skilled teams. As a result, RC ACE cannot make guarantees as to who will be on your child’s team.

Question: Can my daughter's friend be on my daughter's team for carpooling purposes?

Answer: Teams are formed by a draft process to ensure fair and equal placement of players among teams. We cannot guarantee such an arrangement. In the T-Ball Division, we try to group girls with their classmates to make their experience more enjoyable.

Question: How are team names assigned?

Answer: Teams are assigned via draft process and selected by the team manager.

Question: How will my player(s) be selected onto a team?

Answer: Softball players attend evaluations, after which they will be drafted by the Manager/Coach of a team. Every softball player who registers before the evaluations deadline and attends the evaluations will be drafted (all others will be placed on teams, space permitting).  There are no evaluations for T-Ball players. The T-Ball teams are formed/rostered at the discretion of the T-ball Coordinator and usually grouped by their school and friends.

Question: When are player assessments conducted?

Answer: Player assessments for Spring are conducted in January.  Players assessments for Fall are conducted in July. Your child only needs to attend one player assessment of the dates given as options.  *Dates are subject to change due to field availability*

Question: Why does my child need to attend mandatory assessments?

Answer: This gives our managers the opportunity to evaluate the skill level of your child.  A draft will be held in order to allow each manager to choose players.  This ensures that all skill levels of players are evenly distributed to all teams.  If your child is a pitcher (or plans on pitching) or is a catcher (or plans on catching), she must attend the pitchers and catchers assessments as well as general assessments.

Question: What if my child misses mandatory assessments?

Answer: The player will go into the draft with an assessment score of “0”, and is ineligible to pitch for the season and will also enter the draft as a blind drafted player.
